Now you can drag and drop images in Google Docs

This will only add to the popularity of Google Docs. A recent update by Google makes this possible. Just make sure you have the latest versions of the browser you are using. Current this feature works for Chrome, Safari and Firefox with updates for other browsers in the offing.

No need to import and upload anymore as all you need to do is drag the image from your desktop and position it in the document. It works just how you thought it would! It is a big win for Google Docs to provide drag and drop uploading. Google Docs competitor Zoho provides drag and drop only for some of its applications.

The entire process works very well with uploading images into the document is now a piece of cake. While this feature gets a thumps up we still have complaints where image alignment is concerned. The float alignment is still missing and no where in sight. Instead of the text filling up the space besides the image we need to begin writing beneath the image.

We are hoping other similar office suits online take a leaf out of Google’s book. This is possible thanks to ‘HTML 5’ which makes it easier for developers to include features in the web applications making them similar to desktop apps. The future is already here.
